Punch Heaven

Right in time for Christmas time! Punch is one of the must beverages around Christmas time in Austria. Every Christmas market serves it and also when having guests it is perfect to get together before dinner.

Preparation time: 5 mins. (+ 20 mins. cooking time)

Serving: 4l = 17 cups


  • 1 large pot
  • 6 bag fruity tea
  • 6 bags black tea
  • 1,5l water
  • 1 bottle red wine (Zweigelt)
  • 1l orange juice
  • 5 fresh oranges (4 squeezed, 1 sliced)
  • 50g sugar
  • 3 tbs honey
  • 2 hand full cranberries
  • 1 cinnamon cane
  • 5 cloves
  • splash of rum

How to:

  • set water on stove and add tea bags, let simmer for 5mins
  • add cranberries, orange juice, orange slices half bottle of wine, cinnamon cane and cloves, let simmer for 10mins
  • add sugar and honey, let simmer for 10 mins and stir every once in a while
  • Enjoy!

Tip: Remove cinnamon cane and cloves after a while so the punch does not get too bitter.
